Rotary Drum Screen
A rotating wedge wire drum retains suspended solids and fine particles; spray nozzles and a screw conveyor carry them out of the unit.
The rotary drum screen is used in the mechanical stage of wastewater treatment to separate suspended solids and fine particles from the flowing liquid. It serves both municipal and industrial treatment plants wherever small particles have to be retained with precision.
The core of the unit is a cylindrical drum made of wedge wire pipe. The drum is mounted on a frame and driven by a motor that keeps it in slow, continuous rotation. The unit also carries a spray system (washing nozzles) and an integrated screw conveyor for the separated solids.
Working continuously and automatically, and thanks to the spray self-cleaning system, the unit has low operating requirements.
A further advantage is that the aperture size can be matched to the process requirements of the treatment plant.
- Cylindrical drum made of wedge wire pipe
- Drum mounted on a frame, motor driven
- Slow, continuous rotation of the drum
- Spray system with washing nozzles (self-cleaning)
- Integrated screw conveyor for the separated solids
- Aperture size matched to the process requirements of the plant
- Continuous, automatic operation
